Description
This is an image of a red crossbill taken in the backyard. This is the first time these guys have come to the feeders. Other times, they have been way up in the tree tops. Their bills are crossed so they have more leverage in opening pine cones in order to get at the seeds. Isn't it amazing how nature can adapt?!!

What a beauty! I saw my first one two years ago but never got a good shot. Very nice capture!

Thanks, Doris! I got very lucky to see them this close. They didn't show up today though.
