Oh, what an unnusual stance--great capture, perfectly timed, Gerry! I tried to coax orioles to our feeders this year but didn't have any luck. I followed a suggestion by Birds 'n Blooms magazine, to hang orange slices in a suet feeder, but they didn't come. Maps show that the Pacific Northwest does have orioles, but apparently they didn't get the memo.

Gerry Sibell replied:

Thank you, Bonnie! This year, I had much better luck with the grape jelly than the orange slices. Funny how things can change from year to year.
