Artist's Description
This image was taken at the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota. I spend many hours watching the behavior of these wolves. There are two arctic wolves at the Center, the siblings, Shadow and Malik. I have hard time telling the two apart but this is Shadow, because he had a scar at the time on his snout. Shadow had been the alpha but because of his age and for his safety, he and his brother have been put in the "retirement" area of the Center.
About Gerry Sibell
Thanks for stopping by. A retired educator, my main focus since retirement has been becoming more serious about photography. My wife and I live in northern Minnesota. Our favorite place to visit and photograph is Yellowstone National Park. My project for the past ten years has been photographing small birds in flight. The most frustrating endeavor I have ever attempted but also the most rewarding. Each day, it seems like a new problem has to be solved with this very difficult kind of photography!
