Artist's Description
This image was taken in my backyard. This is a female ruby throated hummingbird. Hummers always like to max out on the nectar just before bedtime as it is a long night for them, especially on a cold evening.
About Gerry Sibell
Thanks for stopping by. A retired educator, my main focus since retirement has been becoming more serious about photography. My wife and I live in northern Minnesota. Our favorite place to visit and photograph is Yellowstone National Park. My project for the past ten years has been photographing small birds in flight. The most frustrating endeavor I have ever attempted but also the most rewarding. Each day, it seems like a new problem has to be solved with this very difficult kind of photography! Absolutely gorgeous! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of camera are you using?
Gerry Sibell replied:
Thanks again, Suzanne! I was again using the Canon 50d for this image.

Gerry Sibell replied:
Those hummers are real cuties! Thanks!
