Description
This is an image of a wolf taken near Sheepeaters Cliff in Yellowstone National Park. My wife, oldest granddaughter and I had spent three hours watching a grizzly mother and her cub feeding off a fresh killed elk calf. During this time we watched the cub breast feed twice. Twice, this wolf showed up to try and get some of the carcass. When this happened, the mother would cover up the carcass and go to chase the wolf away. As she did this, the cub would uncover the carcass so he could play with it! I remember my granddaughter saying as I was taking the images of the bears, "Grandpa, there is a wolf!" I said something like it must be a coyote and I was going to keep taking pictures of the bears. She was right and I was wrong! I should have known. My wife and I have taken her to the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota many times!
