This is an image of a female hooded merganser taken in our pond in northern Minnesota. The grandkids have named her Princess Lily. She has used the same nest box in the pond for several years. With a camera in the nest box, we have been able to observe her great skills as a mother.

Thanks for stopping by. A retired educator, my main focus since retirement has been becoming more serious about photography. My wife and I live in northern Minnesota. Our favorite place to visit and photograph is Yellowstone National Park. My project for the past ten years has been photographing small birds in flight.
