Artist's Description
This is an in-flight image of a male rose breasted grosbeak taken in the backyard. These grosbeaks are truly one of the most beautiful birds to show up in the yard. Fortunately, the last few years, they have stayed to raise their young and don't leave until the end of August into September. They add lots of color to the yard! This is a full frame shot. In fact, I added a little canvas around the bird so he could "breathe" a bit!

Thanks for stopping by. A retired educator, my main focus since retirement has been becoming more serious about photography. My wife and I live in northern Minnesota. Our favorite place to visit and photograph is Yellowstone National Park. My project for the past ten years has been photographing small birds in flight. The most frustrating endeavor I have ever attempted but also the most rewarding. Each day, it seems like a new problem has to be solved with this very difficult kind of photography!
