This is an image of a cedar waxwing taken in the backyard. These guys make their appearance for a few days and then take off. This spring, there was an abundance of apple blossoms so they stayed for awhile. They will probably be back this fall to eat the apples and the mountain ash berries.
About Gerry Sibell
Thanks for stopping by. A retired educator, my main focus since retirement has been becoming more serious about photography. My wife and I live in northern Minnesota. Our favorite place to visit and photograph is Yellowstone National Park. My project for the past ten years has been photographing small birds in flight. The most frustrating endeavor I have ever attempted but also the most rewarding. Each day, it seems like a new problem has to be solved with this very difficult kind of photography! Love the look of waxwing, which I have not seen in Oklahoma, where I live. This one is especially fluffy and nice. The feathers look so soft . Wonderful job of photographing. The color is great. V

Thanks again, Janette! The waxwings finally stayed around for a couple of days this spring and feasted on the apple blossoms. Usually, they return for a bit in the fall on their way south.
